Links to some great work

Hot Linx - Work that has inspired me

There must be a thousand web-site bookmarks in my collection. Here are links to sites that have taken my breath away, and sometimes want to make me toss in the towel!

Think you need a Million-Mega-Pixel Camera? Look at this work done by Pekka Saarinen of Finland, with a 2000 model-year Canon G1 - a 3.3 megapixel 'point-n-shoot' cam.
'Seven Months with a G1'

Also part of the work of Pekka is this famous pano of a winter street in Helsinki

One of my early finds on the net, the illusive Daniella T. Be sure to see the Sequoia panoramas. Always good for some inspiration.

Something a little different: The amazing work of the Polish photog Andrzej Dragan. All his work is great, but be sure to go Portfolio menu, then to 'Personal' and be stunned!

The mysterious 'greenjade' on PhotoSig. What an innovative and sexy woman! Who is she? Where does she live?

Like bugs? Be sure to see the work of Christina Evans, in Florida. In her tiny back yard she has captured dragon flies and other cool bugs, and with a little post-processing magic has turned them into true works of art.

Another must-see is the non-digital original work of Joseph Holmes. I believe the work on this gallery was done on 4 x 5 Ektachrome and scanned to digital. However it got to the web, they examples of some first-rate work. You can almost hear the leaves falling, and the water rushing!

The venerable Smithsonian offers links to other great photo sites.

And then there are the Masters:

An interview with Ansel Adams that gives a great portrait of this legend.

A true hero, tireless artist and photo-journalist, W. Eugene Smith. Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of this article to see a classic wet darkroom. Read the captions, and then tell me your images are 'right out of the camera'. Sheese!

The man who showed me color: Eliot Porter. Around 1966 while floating around in the South China sea (in a ship!), I obtained a copy of his Sierra Club book "In Wildness Is the Preservation of the World." It was the first serious color photography I'd seen and I was blown away.
